Tell us about yourself:
I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2020 with a major in Mathematics and minor in Secondary Education. I currently teach 7th and 8th grade math at St. James Middle school. I love service as for the past four summers, I have worked for an organization called Catholic HEART Work Camp that provides high school students the opportunity to serve in communities across the country while growing in their faith.
When did you start serving at St. James?
I started teaching during the 2020-2021 school year and I start the Middle School Youth Ministry position August of 2021.
Why are you passionate about serving at St. James?
Youth ministry has shaped me into the person I am today. I would not be where I am if it were not for the advice, model, and guidance of people involved in my Parish’s youth ministry program. They instilled in me a love of service and for Christ which helped me stay invested in my faith throughout high school, college, and up to this day. The importance of good catholic models cannot be undervalued to our youth as they are needed now more than ever. That is why I love serving the youth of our St. James community, so they can become beacons of Christ’s light forever and have a passion for Christ the rest of their lives.
