Want to check out St. James, but not sure if you’re ready to come to Mass? Encounter is a monthly opportunity for everyone – old, young, families, Catholics, and future Catholics – to join together to worship, adore Jesus, be inspired, and find community with one another as we seek to become one parish family.
Each evening will have a brief talk for all ages.
After the talks, we’ll participate in Adoration, uplifting music, prayer, and reconciliation.
We will share a meal with one another prior to the reflection and adoration
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to bring anything to Mass?
The only thing you need to bring to Mass is yourself!
What’s the difference between traditional and contemporary music?
The main difference between these two types of music is the style. Traditional music will be hymns and chanting, while contemporary music features modern worship songs by contemporary artists. Check out our Spotify playlist to get familiar with our favorites! Otherwise, the readings and prayers are the same regardless of which Mass you attend.
How long is Mass?
Daily Mass is about 30 minutes long, while weekend Mass typically lasts one hour.
Do you have any programs for children during Mass?
We believe we can worship God at any age! We want your children to be able to participate in Mass, and your kids are more than welcome to attend Mass with you. There is a children’s choir that sings once a month at the 11:30 AM Mass. To get involved, email Natalie Conseur at [email protected]
I’m not sure if I’m ready to attend Mass. What other events are available to me?
If you’d like to check out St. James before you attend Mass with us, we invite you to come to Encounter. This monthly event is an opportunity for all ages to gather together and find community with one another in a welcoming environment.
Adoration Chapel
All are welcome to spend time in Adoration in our Adoration Chapel on the lower level of the Church. The chapel is open to the public from 6:30 AM – 8:30 PM Monday-Friday, and 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM Saturday and Sunday.
There is always a need for faithful committed adorers in our Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. Please register for your own hour below.
